Melons & Radishes

All Redwood Nursery Seeds are open pollinated and organically grown with natural fertilizers and no pesticides. All seed are pre-packaged and sell for $2.49 per package. Seed count and weights are indicated along with the seed descriptions.

 

Melons

Annanas

Slightly pineapple in aroma and flavor. Best consistency when greenish fruits show first yellow flush on the outside surface. Oblong shape. 2 grams = 60 seeds

Ha-Ogen

These melons developed in Israel have a green flesh with an orange flair around the seed cavity when the are perfect for eating. Heavy producer! Very delicious! 2 grams = 60 seeds

Iroquois

Long-time favorite muskmelon from the Midwest to the Northeast and Canada. Heavy, course webbing; excellent orange flesh. 2 grams = 60 seeds

Sweet Granite Cantaloupe

Excellent early-ripening melon. 2 - 4 lb. Fruits are good bet in cooler climates. Netted outside, orange inside. 2 grams = 60 seeds

 

 

Mustards

Green Wave

Long-standing, deeply frilled and finely cut green leaves. Spicy flavor when fresh, mild when steamed. ½ gram = 60 seeds

Osaka Purple

A beautiful, pungent variety when fresh. Excellent for Spring or Fall. 1 gram = 300 seeds

 

Onion

Walla Walla

The Great Northwest's sweet onion. 300 days from seeding to harvest. Start seeds in flats or controlled bed in early to mid September. Plant seedling to permanent position in early to mid March. Harvest as delicious onions in July and August. Use fresh. Not a good keeper. 1 gram = 250 seeds

 

Peppers

Cayenne - Hot

Bushes 2 ft. tall full of long, thin very hot peppers. 1 gram = 175 seeds

Nardello Sweet

Sweet brine pepper! Excellent flavor when sautéed in omelets and stir frys. ½ gram = 80 seeds.

 

Radishes

 

Dikon, Miyashige

Beautiful white radish, over 12 inches long and two inches in diameter. Best roots come with fall planting in middle August. To make classic specimens plant in broad deep furrows and blanch the wonderful large roots to keep them very white and straight. 3 grams = 250 seeds

 

 

German Round Red (Parat)

A large, round radish from Germany. Slow to turn woody; may be eaten from marble to tennis ball size. Slightly pungent. 3 grams = 275 seeds

 

White Finger

Fine tasting, quick growing, mild flavor. 3 - 5 inches long. Crisp and delicious.
